CAKE Technical Questions

 

 

How do I register for an account?

You can register for CAKE by clicking here. Once you click Create New Account, you should receive an automated email with a temporary password within 20 minutes. You can change that password after you’ve logged in. If you do not receive an automated email, please email info@cakex.org for support.

 

How do I find my account?

After you’ve registered for CAKE, you will need to sign in to access your account. Find the Sign In link in the upper right-hand corner of the website, above the search bar. Once you‘ve signed in, the link text will change to Sign Out. To access your account, click on the account text to the right of Sign Out. If your username is Sam, the link text will read ‘Sam’s Account.’

 

How can I reset my password?

If you are signed in to your CAKE account, you can change your password from your account page. Click the link to your account, then click the ‘Edit’ tab. In the ‘Edit’ tab, you will see your username, email address, and a text box with bullets representing your password. To change your password, simply delete those bullets and type the new password you would like to use. Then type the same password in the ‘Confirm Password’ text box. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the ‘Save’ button. Once you’ve saved these changes, the password has been changed.

If you do not have your password to sign in, click the link to the Sign In page in the upper right-hand corner. On this page, click Request New Password and enter your email address. You should receive a new password in your email after you click the ‘Email New Password’ button. If you do not receive an email within 20 minutes, please email us at info@cakex.orgfor support.

 

Do I have to make my email address public?

No. You have the option to keep your email address and other information private. We encourage you to share your email address and complete and publish your profile in order to participate fully in the CAKE community.

 

What is a profile?

A profile is any page you find in the Directory. Essentially, it’s a brief informational page about a person or organization.

 

How do I change information on my published profile?

Once you’ve signed in, access your account through the link in the upper right-hand corner. In your account, click the ‘Profile’ tab. This tab contains all of the fields you can use to update your profile published on CAKE. After you have finished, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click ‘Save.’ Changes will be saved, but it usually takes around two minutes for new information to be pulled into search results.

If you do not want your profile published or if you are having difficulty publishing your profile, please email us at info@cakex.org to let us know.

 

I am already listed in the Directory. How can I claim my profile?

If you find that a profile has already been created for you, and you would like to claim it so you add new information, please contact us to let us know!

 

What size pictures should I upload?

Pictures uploaded in the CAKE Directory or Case Studies will be used to feature you or your work on the homepage of CAKE! This is a way to help our community members share what they are doing with others. Therefore, it is best if you include a horizontal photo if you are willing to be featured. If possible, it is greatly appreciated if you upload pictures larger than 595 × 270 (pixels).

 

What is the maximum size of items in the Virtual Library?

90 MB.
