The Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center was established as part of the USDA Forest Service's program under the Healthy Forests Restoration Act, and is part of a network of early warning activities established by the Forest Service nationwide.The mission of the Eastern Threat Center is to generate, integrate, and apply knowledge to predict, detect, and assess environmental threats to public and private forests of the east, and to deliver this knowledge to managers in ways that are timely, useful, and user friendly.
We are citizens, businesses, schools and government working together to restore our home river. For too long, the Elizabeth River, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, has been infamous for pollution. Instead of lamenting the problem, we prefer to take hope from her strengths. From the Great Bridge Lock to the naval base, you can see the importance of the Elizabeth River every day in Hampton Roads. She gives us our work and our play.
This document, Safeguarding California Plan: 2017 Update, is a programmatic survey across state government of what California is doing to respond to climate change, what needs to be done, and how we will achieve those goals. The hundreds of actions and recommendations listed here were developed through the scientific and policy expertise of staff from 27 state agencies. The plan opens with overarching strategies recommended by the California Natural Resources Agency, the State’s lead agency on climate change adaptation.
CED provides nationally-accredited, inventive, and demanding programs in landscape architecture, historic preservation, environmental planning & design, and environmental ethics. At CED, our students cultivate not only the skills they need to work as professional designers and practitioners, but the individual passions they have to make a difference in their world.
The Center for Community Design & Preservation (CCDP) serves as the Public Service and Outreach office for the College of Environment & Design. We provide opportunities for our faculty and students to engage in real-world projects and put their academic pursuits into practice.
