Help shape this year’s Midwest CASC Annual Gathering – propose a session or submit your research poster or presentation for consideration!

The 2024 Annual Gathering will take place August 13-15 and will be hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. We invite session proposals that highlight Midwest CASC-funded research, address our science priorities, demonstrate our core values in action, and/or are relevant to key themes of this year’s Gathering, including climate adaptation at the interface of land and water.

We are especially excited to receive session proposals that take advantage of our event venue: MSU’s STEM Teaching and Learning Facility. The Annual Gathering is an important opportunity for the MW CASC community to get to know each other, and our meeting spaces in this state-of-the-art building lend themselves to interactive, collaborative work. Therefore, we particularly encourage interactive session ideas.

How to Apply:

You are welcome to submit multiple session proposals/research abstracts, but please submit each as a separate form. While we will try our best to fit in as many of your ideas as possible, we do have limited time together. We expect to have capacity for approximately:

  • 2-3 plenary sessions (1 hour ea.)
  • 12 research lightning talks (5 minutes ea.)
  • 25 research posters
  • 6 breakout sessions (90 minutes ea.)

In submitting a session idea, you volunteer to develop and guide that session, but if you have an idea that is outside your expertise or capacity that you’d like the organizers to consider, we welcome those suggestions too.
