The Initiatives Department within NYCEDC seeks to understand the rapidly-changing landscape of NYC’s key economic sectors, and develop and implement innovative initiatives that address specific challenges and opportunities in them.

Initiatives as a department creates, launches and manages portfolios of projects that partner with and impact the following industries and sectors: fashion, design, emerging & applied technology, urban innovation & sustainability, life sciences, healthcare, industrial & manufacturing, social finance and international affairs. Initiatives projects are agile, strategic and impact-focused.

Your Role: RISE : NYC is a key program of the Smart & Sustainable Cities team in the Initiatives Department. Primary responsibilities for the PM will include providing project management support for RISE : NYC, a $30 million Superstorm Sandy business recovery program to identify and deploy innovative new technologies that make New York City more resilient to the impacts of future storms, sea level rise, and other effects of climate change. The RISE : NYC portfolio includes eleven projects across three technology categories; telecom, energy and building systems. Additional responsibilities may include project management support on other RISE : NYC projects or across the Industry Initiatives department teams, as needed.
