SPEER Resilience Cohort (TX & OK)
Program Dates: January – July 2024
Open to: Local and regional governments in Texas and Oklahoma
The Texas and Oklahoma Regional Resilience Cohort is an opportunity for local governments and regional planning councils to learn how to assess climate change vulnerability and risk in their communities. In addition to training sessions, participants will have the chance to practice what they learn by completing brief exercises and taking part in interactive workshops.
Participants will finish the cohort with a baseline understanding of Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (CRVAs), resilience planning, regional climate projections, and inclusive community engagement.
This cohort is a partnership offering from SPEER (South-central Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource) and ICLEI USA open only to local and regional governments in the states of Texas and Oklahoma. Interested communities must submit an application in order to be considered. Applications are due by November 16! You will be notified of the status of your application by December 1, 2023.
ICLEI USA will provide participants with:
- Live, 1-hour web-based sessions monthly for six months
- Several web-based, interactive work sessions to practice key skills
- Peer exchange and networking, including climate adaptation best practices from internationally recognized plans / planners
- Technical assistance on vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning during one-on-one check-ins with the ICLEI USA team
