Citizen Science and Climate Change Adaptation
Citizen science - basically the collection, testing, analysis, and dissemination of data by non-traditional scientists - is quickly being utilized in different adaptation projects and programs. It's typically cheaper and can increase the use of local knowledge in decision making. We have a few examples on CAKE, including The Igliniit Inuit Sea Ice Use and Occupancy Project and Washington’s Salmon Watcher Program.
Are there other projects out there using citizen science that we all should be paying attention to?
