Community-based adaptation: does it work?

The authors of Adapting to a Changing Climate (Booklet) would like your thoughts...

  1. CBA is very new and insights on successes are few and far between so discussion on that would be good
  2. Do these tools really work?  These are all in pilot stages in Micronesia so discussion on usability would be great
  3. While local adaption is crucial, successful adaptation should be at multiple levels (local/community-based, provincial, national and regional). However, the community-based part, in particular the baseline information and local stakeholders’ input, has not received sufficient attention by funders, policy and decision makers. While community-based climate adaption is important and definitely not to be ignored, it should be a part of a larger adaptation process that is well linked to other adaptation levels.
