Community-based adaptation: does it work?
The authors of Adapting to a Changing Climate (Booklet) would like your thoughts...
- CBA is very new and insights on successes are few and far between so discussion on that would be good
- Do these tools really work? These are all in pilot stages in Micronesia so discussion on usability would be great
- While local adaption is crucial, successful adaptation should be at multiple levels (local/community-based, provincial, national and regional). However, the community-based part, in particular the baseline information and local stakeholders’ input, has not received sufficient attention by funders, policy and decision makers. While community-based climate adaption is important and definitely not to be ignored, it should be a part of a larger adaptation process that is well linked to other adaptation levels.
