Organization Overview: 

Uganda Coalition for sustainable Development is a national membership NGO (30 members) with a mission to contribute to sustainable development through follow up of the Johannesburg summit outcomes and subsequent global declarations in Uganda.

UCSD has been the Regional Focal Point for the East African Sustainability Watch Network) which seeks to monitor and advocate for the effective implementation of national and regional obligations to sustainable development in East Africa, since 2005. Our interest in the Rio + 20 Summit lies in the concept of ‘green economy’ (more: http://southgreeneconomy.blogspot.com/) and to broadly monitor East Africa’s progress in realising the J’burg summit commitments.

UCSD is also the Africa Focal Point for REDD-net (more: http://www.redd-net.org/), a hub   for knowledge sharing and resources on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+).
