Organization Overview:
As a leading global university, UC Davis and its community of faculty, students and staff are dispersed throughout the state, nation and world.
They are also home to the Tahoe Environmental Research Center, the Natural Reserve System, and the Bodega Marine Laboratory.
The Tahoe Research Center is dedicated to research, education and public outreach on lakes and their surrounding watersheds and airsheds. Lake ecosystems include the physical, biogeochemical and human environments, and the interactions among them. The Center is committed to providing objective scientific information for restoration and sustainable use of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
The UC Natural Reserve System is a network of protected natural areas throughout California. Its 37 sites include more than 750,000 acres, making it the largest university-administered reserve system in the world. Most major state ecosystems are represented, from coastal tidepools to inland deserts, and lush wetlands to Sierra Nevada forests.
The University of California, Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory (BML) is dedicated to understanding environmental processes at the land-sea interface on California’s North Coast – an area known for the productivity and diversity of its marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
