Livia Kent is pleased to join the CAKE team as Managing Editor. Previously, Livia was Director of Journals at Heldref Publications, where she oversaw the marketing and production of over 45 online and in-print academic journals including The Journal of Environmental Education, Science Activities, and The Journal of Economic Education. She has also managed publications for other nonprofit organizations such as International Student Exchange Programs, The Forum for Youth Investment, The Women's National Book Association, and DC Writers Corps. She received her BA in English and Philosophy from Macalester College and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from American University, where she also taught for several years. Livia has lived and studied in China, Greece, and India, and now resides in Washington, DC. Currently, she is enjoying working for Island Press and engaging more and more in the field of climate change adaptation.
