The City of Santa Cruz has long been a leader in environmental sustainability and disaster recovery. Santa Cruz has extensive experience in preparing for and responding to disasters such as earthquakes, droughts, and floods. The city has come back from each experience stronger and better prepared for what lies ahead. The intent of this climate adaptation plan is to identify our most significant potential climate change risks and vulnerabilities, and to create an action plan that will guide current and future decision makers in protecting our natural and built enviornment, our residents and visitors, our economic base, and our quality of life.
