Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment for Priority Wildlife Species

The Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife and the H. John Heinz III Center for Science, Economics and the Environment jointly developed a climate-change vulnerability assessment for priority wildlife and plant species and habitats on the Navajo landscape. The priority species and habitats included in this analysis were identified by the entire staff of NNDFW through a structured planning process.

Climate Change Hits Home: Adaptation Strategies for the San Francisco Bay Area

We have known about the perils of climate change for more than two decades. But global efforts to slow it down by reducing greenhouse-gas emissions have largely failed. Even if we could stop producing greenhouse gases tomorrow, the high concentration of carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere will cause the climate to continue to change. As a result we must not only intensify our efforts to reduce climate change but start preparing for its inevitable effects.

Port of Long Beach Climate Change Adaptation and Coastal Resiliency Plan (CRP)

The Port of Long Beach (Port) developed a Climate Adaptation and Coastal Resiliency Plan (CRP) to manage the direct and indirect risks associated with climate change and coastal hazards. The CRP provides a framework for the Port to incorporate adaptive measures related to projected climate change into its policymaking and planning processes, construction practices, infrastructure design, and environmental documents.

North Rim Ranches Climate Change Adaptation Plan

The Southwest is considered to be one of the most “climate-challenged” landscapes in the United States (Garfin et al. 2013) and the Colorado Plateau will not be exempt from the impacts of a changing climate. Through the 21st century, the Colorado Plateau is projected to experience hotter temperatures, increased aridity and precipitation variability, and more severe droughts (Seager et al. 2007; Garfin et al. 2013; Cook et al. 2015). Projected climate changes will interact with existing land uses, and each species and ecosystem will respond in unique ways.

North Rim Ranches Climate Change Adaptation Plan

We present a landscape-scale climate change adaptation plan that characterizes climate vulnerability and provides a foundation for adaptation action on the North Rim Ranches, a 3,360-km2 (830,000-acre) landscape of significant ecological and cultural importance on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The extent of the North Rim Ranches is defined by the livestock grazing permits held by the Grand Canyon Trust (the Trust) for allotments on public lands managed by the North Kaibab Ranger District of the U.S.

2010 California Regional Transportation Plan Guidelines

Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Regional Transportation Planning Agencies (RTPAs) are required to adopt and submit an updated Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) to the California Transportation Commission (Commission) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) every four or five years depending on air quality attainment within the region. Regional transportation improvement projects proposed to be funded, in whole or in part, in the State Transportation Improvement Program must be included in an adopted RTP.
