Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

Overview

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cooperation between nations and promoting active international engagement by the United States. Founded in 1910, its work is nonpartisan and dedicated to achieving practical results.

CEIP is a global think tank that conducts research, sponsors events and develops policy proposals to advance mutual understanding on issues of global concern. CEIP has an Energy and Climate Program that conducts policy research to reduce greenhouse gas emissions worldwide through more efficient use of fossil fuels, carbon pricing, and adaptive mitigation. On adaptation, its research focus is on transportation and infrastructure policies that empower cities and regions to reduce their carbon footprint from transportation and land development and to identify best policies to use infrastructure investment to create more resilient regions.

Experts in Carnegie’s Energy & Climate and Nonproliferation programs offer analysis of emerging clean energy technologies, with particular focus on the potential role of nuclear energy in the international effort to reduce carbon emissions.
