Ian Johnson

Climate Change / Environmental Intern

I am a recent graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. While attending, I studied Physics & Environmental Studies. Since graduating, I have been involved in  academic research of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells at Montana State University, implementation of UNDP biofuel development  and wetland conservation projects in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

I am currently  working with the environmental coordinator at the Vermont Agency of Transportation on a host of transportation related issues such as wildlife/transportation conflict (expected to become exacerbated by increasing migration of  biomes with their host species), increasing infrastrucutre deterioration rates, and rural road water pollution. I expect to continue addressing these problems with the support of Governor Shumlin and the various state agencies.

Please contact me if you would like any information regarding bridge deterioration modelling, adaptation of infrastructure to high precipitation/flood events, or adaptation in rural communities.
