Mathew Hauer, PhD

Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sociology

Dr. Mathew Hauer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and an Affiliate of the Center for Demography and Population Health at Florida State University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Geography at the University of Georgia. Prior to arriving at FSU, Dr. Hauer spent nearly a decade directing the Applied Demography Program at the University of Georgia.

I use demographic techniques and sociological theory to explore the impacts climate change is having and will have on the three demographic processes: fertility, mortality, and migration. Details of research areas and ongoing projects can be found under the Research Tab.
