My name is Pieter Terpstra and I work for the World Resources Institute as a Senior Associate for the Vulnerability and Adaptation Initiative. My work focuses on adaptation finance and assisting in supporting and expanding the Vulnerability and Adaptation Initiative.

I worked for the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Wetlands International Africa Programme. I have experience in developing and managing projects and programs focused on water management and adaptation in Asia and West Africa. I also gave training in project development, public finance management and have experience in donor harmonization and streamlining risk management in development cooperation financing.

I hold a M.Sc. in marine biology from Groningen University, Groningen, The Netherlands and a M.Sc. in Financial Management from Nyenrode Business University, Breukelen, The Netherlands. I also participated in the Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program at the University of California at Berkley in 2004.
