The Alaska CASC is hosting 2-day workshop from the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science on September 28-29th at the International Arctic Research Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science helps professional scientists, researchers, and graduate students to explain their work and its significance using methods driven by research and developed by experts. This is a great chance to improve your communication skills in a hands-on workshop, including developing a short talk for a non-expert audience. Participants will also learn to apply science communication skills to build trust in difficult situations and to use narrative strategies to engage others with science.

Spaces are currently reserved for AK CASC fellows, researchers, and staff, but registration may be opened up to a broader group depending on availability. (Note: Participants who attended the Alda Center training in 2020 are eligible to attend again, though preference will be given to those who have yet to attend. The content will be largely the same as in 2020.)

Fill out the registration form (linked below) to secure your spot for the training.
