Young Black Climate Leaders Dream Lab
It's always time to support young Black brilliance on climate
Imagine a climate movement that solves for multiple issues at once. That recognizes and supports the people side of the environmental and climate equations. That finds the interrelated points and acts on police brutality and incarceration, economic violence, healthy food access, and environmental racism along with healthy soil, water management, and conservation. With the leadership, the perspectives, and action of Black youth, this vision could become a reality.
Informed by food sovereignty, housing justice, economic empowerment, abolition, cultural power, arts, natural healing, political education, QTPOC and gender rights, young Black people are leading on climate, in their own way.
In support of the growing network of change-makers, Climate Innovation's Young Black Climate Leaders project (YBCL) presents the YBCL Dream Lab for Black youth 18-25yrs to meet, build, and dream into how to move movements.
Youth will receive stipends of up to $100 for participation of both days. At the Dream Lab we will be announcing a YBCL scholarship for $500-$1,500 that will be available for all participants to support their development, leadership, education, personal projects, and/or community work. Applications open after the event.
