About: Scale LLC is a small, woman-owned firm that works across industries and disciplines to expedite problem-solving at the intersection of climate + conservation. We approach our work with the urgency demanded by the climate and biodiversity crises. Therefore, we have high professional expectations for all and seek to foster an environment of continuous learning and growth. That said, we want to make sure everyone has time for family, friends, and life, and offer flexible work hours in a remote environment. We believe in radical transparency and expect open and honest communications among leadership and staff. As a small business, all staff will play a role in shaping the firm’s direction and client portfolio.

Description: Scale LLC is a boutique consultancy that provides strategic guidance and technical support to help clients set and achieve ambitious goals for climate action and natural resource stewardship. Scale believes that natural and working lands must be central to both fighting and adapting to climate change: they hold the key to generating the negative emissions humanity needs to get to net zero, and they are the only climate tech that provides food, water, shelter, and spiritual sustenance. Scale partners with state and local governments, non-profit organizations, research institutions, and landowners to develop and implement organizational strategy, public policy, and financing solutions. Recent clients of Scale’s founder include the U.S. Climate Alliance and its member states, Rhodium Group, and the Marin Agricultural Land Trust.

Scale evolved from an independent consultancy and is now seeking an Associate to support and lead client engagements in natural climate solutions and net zero public policy. This is an exciting opportunity for an impact-driven professional who wants to have a role in crafting the policy and funding mechanisms that will support the U.S. transition to net zero. The Associate will work alongside leaders and public sector decision-makers to help define the role that natural and working lands play in achieving net zero targets and develop new policy and funding mechanisms for carbon sequestration and community and ecosystem resilience. You will engage with clients and partners to elevate environmental justice and equity across Scale’s work. Finally, you will also play a role in shaping Scale: we want to grow along with the interests and expertise of our staff.
