Chair of Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) Department & Director of Southern California Education and Research Center (SCERC) – UCLA Fielding School of Public Health
The UCLA Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health (FSPH) is undertaking a search for Chair of the Department of Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) who will also serve as the director of the Southern California Education and Research Center (SCERC). The SCERC is partially funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The full-time equivalent faculty of the EHS Department are funded through FSPH and the UCLA Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH).
We seek an outstanding candidate who can provide exceptional leadership for the EHS and SCERC’s faculty, staff, and students. This candidate should be recognized internationally as a distinguished scholar in occupational and environmental health or a related discipline, have a strong track record of extramural funding, demonstrated excellence in research and management, and sufficient qualifications to be appointed at the level of a tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor. The candidate’s expertise can be in any area of occupational and environmental health, broadly defined. Areas of particular interest include (but are not limited to) occupational health and its intersection with climate change or health equity.
The EHS Department is one of five in FSPH and has always been a leader within the field. We seek candidates who will define the future of occupational and environmental health and will advance our joint commitments to academic excellence and equity, diversity & inclusion (EDI) for students, faculty, and staff.
