Climate Change Consultant for Resilient Cities
Background: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The IDB’s Housing and Urban Development Division (CSD/HUD), created in 2016 as a result of the merging of the urban cluster of the IDB with the Sustainable Cities Initiative (ESCI), has as its main objective to promote the sustainable development of human settlements in the region, with a special focus on urban development and housing. The work is organized through various thematic groups, including resilient cities, housing policies and finance, metropolitan areas, urban heritage, smart cities, and urban people.
What you’ll do: The objective of this consultancy is to support the thematic group Resilient Cities in the day-to-day managerial and technical activities related to the planning, contracting, researching, implementing of the specific activities that will nurture the five areas prioritized. The consultancy will also participate in potential CSD/HUD loans and technical assistance activities co-financed or of common strategic interest by KfW Development Bank, DEG, IDB Invest and IDB, upon agreement with the IDB specialists and HUD Division Chief.
