Description:

We are excited to invite you to participate in the Climate Mayors Extreme Heat Cohort. Moderated by ICLEI USA champion, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella, Climate Mayors is launching an Extreme Heat Leadership Cohort. With support from Climate Mayors, mayors will share resilience strategies, shape advocacy efforts, and advance communications on extreme heat solutions through virtual roundtables and policy discussions.

The goal of the cohort is to provide a space for cities dealing with increasingly frequent extreme heat conditions to lift up successful resilience strategies, strengthen the voice of cities in state and federal advocacy, advance shared communication strategies, and engage community members to lift up the importance of extreme heat and resilience solutions.  As part of this cohort, we’ll look for you to:

  • Attend 3-4 virtual roundtables with your peer mayors, municipal sustainability and clean energy leadership, and other experts on extreme heat and resiliency solutions.
  • Provide input on policy solutions for mayors that want to adopt policies and/or community energy solutions.
  • Use your leadership for external communication towards a regional cohort federal and state policy agenda. Climate Mayors can provide communications support.
