Climate Program Assistant (Intern) - City of Fort Collins

SUMMARY: Coordinates and assists with program management for the Fort Collins Climate Action Plan. Under the direction of the Climate Program Manager and the Climate Team, this position provides essential support to ensuring the Plan and associated teams are on track to achieve these goals. Duties vary on a daily basis, and include supporting community engagement efforts, e.g., through the Climate Action Plan e-newsletter, providing administrative support, e.g., meeting setup, taking notes, etc., and project support as capacity allows. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team environment and will be exposed to multiple levels of leadership in a municipal organization.
Work hours are flexible based on school schedule, with typical work hours being 10-14 hours per week during the semester, and full-time during the summer.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Fort Collins Climate Action Plan (CAP) is the City’s strategic guide for reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, with interim greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals in 2020 and 2030. In 2019, staff will update the Climate Action Plan and Energy Policy to focus more explicitly on the 2030 climate goals with an increased emphasis on resilience and equity.
