Broward County is seeking a creative, dedicated, and dynamic individual to join a progressive team as part of the Energy and Sustainability Program with Broward County's Environmental Planning and Community Resilience Division. This is an advanced professional position providing technical expertise, climate resilience and emissions reduction planning support in a fast-paced environment. .
This position plays an important role in supporting regional planning in the areas of climate resilience, renewable energy and energy conservation and sustainability. This position provides technical evaluations and project management to inform policy and planning activities on a county-wide scale and works to creatively and effectively engage with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of resilient design, energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable practices. This position is responsible for high quality deliverables produced with support of staff including the Climate Change Action Plan, the Community wide Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Community Energy Strategic Plan, the Renewable Energy Action Plan and regional workshops and communications regarding priority climate resilience and emissions mitigation measures. The successful candidate will also participate in the identification and pursuit of grant funding, provide contract management, prepare planning documents and proposals and provide supervision of program staff. Work requires interagency collaborations, independent research, project ownership, community outreach and accountability. Work is reviewed through regular meetings, reports and assignments.
