Description: The Director of Government Relations and Climate Policy may lead and/or play a key role in the development and implementation of one or more strategies to achieve the Conservancy’s goals through interaction with governments, multilateral agencies, and/or the corporate sector. The position is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Director of Government Relations and Climate Policy develops and maintains relationships with Tennessee’s federal delegation as well as the Tennessee General Assembly and the Office of the Governor to influence policy and to mobilize public funding for conservation. This position will also work collaboratively with diverse partners and TNC colleagues to identify and implement robust state and federal climate policies that advance equitable climate solutions.
The Director of Government Relations and Climate Policy will represent the Chapter on the Southern U.S. Division Government Relations Cabinet and work closely with the Conservancy’s national Government Relations team. This position will also lead a Government Relations Committee of the Tennessee Board and grow Trustee involvement in our policy efforts.
The Director of Government Relations and Climate Policy needs to be passionate about the Conservancy’s 2030 Goals and understand the urgency of our work. You must be a strategic thought leader and help scale up our critical work through partnerships, advocacy, and policy.
