The Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility seeks an innovative, creative and pro-active scholar, educator and administrator to be the inaugural Director for the Institute’s newly established Project on Cities and Migration. This is an administrative position comprising of 55% administrative duties and 45% teaching duties. Reporting to the Director of the Zolberg Institute, the Director of the Project will:

• be responsible for the Project’s development and programming;
• serve as coordinator of the Research Platform on Cities, Migration and Membership—a collaboration of The New School and 12 research institutions from around the world;
• foster and enhance relationships with New York City’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and community-based organizations in New York City;
• collaborate with faculty and other programs and units at The New School, particularly faculty fellows of the Institute and New School urban and environmental programs 
• seek funding for the Project’s activities and for his or her own research

• teach two courses each year relating to cities and migration, climate change and migration, international migration and/or other courses as decided in consultation with the Director of the Institute
• conduct and publish research on migration and cities and related topics
