The Future Park Leaders of Emerging Change (FPL) provides paid internships to highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to work in a national park for 12 weeks on projects related to natural and cultural resource conservation, park infrastructure, policy development, interpretation and education, and other management challenges arising from global drivers of environmental change.

Join the next generation of national park stewards! FPL interns gain valuable work experience, develop leadership skills, and explore future career options under the mentorship and guidance of the National Park Service (NPS). Upon successful completion, interns are eligible to be hired without competition into the National Park Service and other bureaus under the Department of the Interior’s Direct Hire Authority.

Students summer internships offer:
