Green Building and Climate Program Analyst
The mission of the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is to protect and restore the environment, conserve natural resources, and improve the quality of life in the District of Columbia. As the nation's capital city, the District will become a model of environmental protection and sustainable environmental practices. In partnership with other District agencies, the federal government, business groups, non-profit organizations, and residents, the department will help instill environmental awareness through innovation and best practices.
Located in the District Department of the Environment’s Urban Sustainability Administration, this position will support coordination within the agency, across related District agencies, and with community partners to advance green building policy and programs on behalf of the city in support of the Sustainable DC, Clean Energy DC, and Climate Ready DC plans. Responsibilities will include analysis of and reporting of progress towards green building policy goals, coordinating review of development projects and providing technical assistance to the building sector especially related to solar energy, policy research particularly related to building electrification and net zero energy buildings, and support for the District’s Green Building Fund grant program and related projects.
