Institute Associate, Georgetown Climate Center – Georgetown University Law Center
The Georgetown Climate Center (GCC), based at Georgetown University Law Center, seeks to advance effective climate, energy, and transportation policies in the United States - policies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help communities adapt to climate change. For ten years, the Center has worked at the nexus of state and federal climate and energy policy to inform federal policies with the lessons of state and local communities and to serve as a resource to the states and local governments we serve.
The Institute Associate is a motivated contributor who works on both adaptation and mitigation policy projects in duties that include but are not limited to:
- Conducting legal analysis
- Facilitating state engagement processes
- Providing superior research and writing support
- Representing GCC at local, state, and national events; and
- Assisting with the supervision of student research on relevant climate topics
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree - preference for JD
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in climate mitigation policy
- Working knowledge of topics related to the electric power sector, low-carbon transportation, and clean energy
