Program Overview

There isn’t a silver bullet, or a single pressure point to tackle the climate crisis. It will require an army of actors, a menu of pathways and an array of interventions in the right places. Tailoring approaches to these unique situations is the sweet spot for the Climate Program at World Resources Institute. We help businesses, policymakers and civil society at the local, national and international levels advance the deep structural shifts necessary to address climate change. With offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and Mexico, our international climate work includes in-country support, analysis, innovation and partnerships to achieve effective national mitigation and adaptation policies and implement the Paris Agreement on climate change. WRI’s U.S. Climate Initiative provides analysis, expert commentary, and insights for practical steps at all levels of government in the United States to grow the economy, reduce emissions and strengthen communities. Climate Watch offers open data, visualizations and analysis to help policymakers, researchers and other stakeholders gather insights on countries' climate progress.
