Policy Analyst - NYC Office Of The Mayor
ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE: The Mayor’s Office of Operations manages inter-agency, strategic projects of significance to the Mayor and City Hall senior staff. Many of the projects the office is currently focused on revolve around improving the efficiency and effectiveness of intra- and inter-agency operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Policy Analyst will provide project management, analytical and technical assistance for planning, coordinating and implementing interagency and agency-specific projects. These projects represent critical initiatives, directed by the Mayor and/or City Hall senior staff, to improve efficiency, effectiveness, coordination, and accessibility of key City services. He/she will also provide project management, analytical and technical assistance for the tracking and monitoring of the Mayor’s commitments. The job responsibilities for the Senior Policy Analyst include, but are not limited to: • Provide analytical assistance to team members, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis, the evaluation of best practices, and the identification and assessment of operational improvement opportunities at different agencies; • Provide project management assistance, including developing and maintaining project plans and other documents, managing and coordinating project elements, reviewing agency and interagency work products, and ensuring efficient progress on implementation; • Serve as a liaison within the Mayor’s Office of Operations and with other city agencies to track and monitor progress of mayoral initiatives and commitments; and • May also be responsible for one or more discrete projects and be expected to manage the project(s) to completion. • Will be responsible for conducting assessments, analysis, and project management of urban resilience related projects. S/he will be responsible for working directly with city agencies and project teams on OneNYC, specifically climate adaptation and resilience plans and capital projects.
