Post-doc Opportunity - California Strategic Growth Council Project - University of California, Santa Cruz

California Strategic Growth Council Project seeks an interdisciplinary geospatial data scientist to work with PI and Co-PI's on the project - "Assessment of local development plans under climate change: collaborative evaluation of trade-offs between carbon emissions, water sustainability, and affordable housing for communities in California’s Central Coast." This will involve using modeling and stakeholder input to create 4-5 high resolution (50m) tradeoff scenarios between 1) water shortage vulnerability 2) preservation of agricultural lands, 3) preservation of critical habitats, 4) carbon emissions from land-use change, and 5) affordable housing and displacement of disadvantaged communities. 

Outputs for the project include maps, oral and written reports, and journal publications on the tradeoff analyses and other findings, as well as presentations at stakeholder meetings, academic conferences, and webinars. 

This is initially a one-year (12 months) position with the possibility of additional time. This position includes full benefits.
