Regional Engagement Fellow - COMPASS
COMPASS seeks motivated candidates for the one-year, 3/4-time position of Regional Engagement Fellow to play an integral role in our Policy and Science Solutions program. This is a 3/4-time, exempt position at approximately 30 hours per week and based in the Pacific Northwest, preferably in Oregon. If additional funding is secured, this position may have the opportunity to transition to a full-time position. The rate of pay is $34,000 to $39,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications. This position includes the option to enroll in the COMPASS medical and dental plans with a 25% employee contribution. The position includes employee Paid Time Off.
As Regional Engagement Fellow, you will contribute to COMPASS’ work to bring science and scientists to decision-making tables across multiple scales throughout the WesternU.S. (from local to federal). You will join projectsworking to co-create equitablesolutions to climate change and biodiversity loss, with a particular emphasis on marineprotected areas in Oregon and/or the intersectionsof climate and wildfire in the Pacific Northwest. As part of a collaborative team, you willidentify scientists whose work can add to a systems-level view of a problem and potentialsolutions; assist inpolicy-focused communication trainings; help createinclusive spaces for dialogue andproblem solving; and summarize what we’ve learnedin the form of blog posts, policybriefs, and other reports. You will have opportunitiesto both learn from and share yourknowledge with your colleagues and build your skills and leadership.
