Description:

Are you passionate about bringing people together? Re.Climate seeks a Resource and Training Coordinator to support its research and knowledge efforts.

Reporting to the Resource and Training Director and collaborating closely with the Re.Climate team, the Resource and Training Coordinator will play a central role in developing  Re.Climate resources such as guides and reports, running trainings and events, convening researchers and practitioners and supporting partnerships.

Re.Climate is Canada’s go-to resource for training, research and strategy on climate change communication and engagement at Carleton University. We bring together researchers, strategists and practitioners to share and scale approaches that build support for strong climate leadership and action. We are a non-partisan, public institution. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews and analyze public opinion research and media trends.
  • Conduct and analyze interviews for research purposes.
  • Support the writing of research outcomes and reports.
  • Assist the Resource and Training Director by coordinating and delivering online and hybrid trainings.
  • Support the Resource and Training Director and other team members in the creation of guides and other content and distribute them widely within Re.Climate’s broader network.
  • Organize community-of-practice meetings, including coordination, note-taking, agenda preparation, knowledge sharing, and fostering networking opportunities.
  • Support Re.Climate’s Academic Director in organizing and coordinating  problem-solving sessions with academics and professionals, including participant communication, agenda preparation, documentation, and follow-ups. 
  • Support with documenting other project activities as needed, including writing about milestones, learnings and successes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. communication, public policy and administration, interdisciplinary studies)
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and leading research activities, including literature reviews, media analysis, surveys, and conducting interviews.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing information, identifying key themes and trends, and translating research findings into insights.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in knowledge mobilization and dissemination, including content and resource development and facilitating workshops and training sessions.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, project planning tools (e.g., Asana), production software (Adobe, Canva), and other communication tools (SurveyMonkey, Mailchimp, and LinkedIn).
  • Strong track record of organizing discussions and regular meetings with diverse stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong writing skills across different professional genres, including project and research reports is essential.
  • Experience in collaborating with individuals from diverse communities, demonstrating inclusivity.
  • Must be a resident of Ontario.

Assets:

  • Proficiency in using Meltwater for media research and analysis.
  • A graduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
