Plans, implements and coordinates specialized programs and projects within the Public Works Department. Performs complex analytical studies and policy analysis. Supervises staff, as assigned.
The Senior Sustainability Analyst manages the City's climate, energy and green building policies and programs and is responsible for managing the City's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 or sooner. This leadership position coordinates the development and implementation of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan and the Electric Vehicle Action Plan as well as citywide efforts around building energy, renewable energy, climate change adaptation and equity as it relates to climate change and sustainability. This position represents and liaises with outside entities on behalf of the City including, but not limited to the Clean Power Alliance of Southern California, investor owned utilities, Local Government Sustainable Energy Coalition, Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Change and Sustainability, Climate Mayors and other government entities. This position is responsible for the accounting, verification and reporting of greenhouse gas inventories, climate change vulnerabilities, action plans and highlights to the various external bodies such as the Climate Registry, carbonn, CDP and the Global Covenant of Climate Mayors.
