Abstract

The purpose of this report is to provide examples of the processes state natural resource or environmental protection agencies have used to develop climate adaptation or resilience plans specific to their organization, and to summarize how those plans have been implemented and monitored.

To create this report, the analyst identified plans with unique methods, reviewed documents related to those plans, and interviewed authors of certain plans about their approaches. This report introduces prioritized plans, describes the ways in which plan development approaches are related to each other, and follows with recommendations pertaining to plan implementation. This report also recounts a case study of a state agency whose plan utilized several of the previously described strategies. Finally, resources related to all these findings are provided at the end of the report.
