Overview

The Pacific Climate Impact Consortium (PCIC) is a regional climate service centre at the University of Victoria, Canada that conducts quantitative studies on the impacts of climate change and climate variability in the Pacific and Yukon region. Results from their work provide regional climate stakeholders with the information they need to develop plans for reducing the risks associated with climate variability and change.

In this way, PCIC plays an important bridging function between climate research and the practical application of that knowledge by decision makers.

The Data Portal houses publically available data collected and produced by PCIC:

  • Daily Gridded Meteorological Datasets
  • BC Station Data
  • High Resolution PRISM Climatology
  • Downscaled Climate Scenarios
  • Gridded and Station Hydrologic Model Outputs
  • Future-Shifted Weather Files

The Analysis Tools are produced by PCIC expertise and contributions by affiliated experts:

  • Design Value Explorer
  • Plan2Adapt
  • PCIC Climate Explorer
  • Seasonal Anomaly Maps

The Resources section presents technical reports and peer-reviewed papers with the results of scientific analyses performed by PCIC and their partners:

  • Publications Library
  • Software Library
  • Climate Information Links
  • Climate Insights 101 Course
