Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center

Overview

The Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center (ACRC) is a collaborative organization linking the Unviersity of Alaska, state, federal, and local agencies, and non-governmental organizations.

As part of the North Pacific Rim, Alaska’s rainforests encompass interlinked ecosystems that extend from the glaciated coastal mountains through the temperate forests to the productive marine waters of the north Pacific. The ACRC stimulates education and research, synthesizing ecological, economic, and social information to support vibrant and resilient communities and ecosystems in one of the most dynamic environments in the world.

The ACRC partners with the University of Alaska Southeast, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Pacific Northwest Research Station of the Forest Service, Alaska Region of the Forest Service, Alaska Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska.
